Veteran relief

When waiting is not an option.

Hunger, eviction and a lost paycheck do not wait on government forms. Veterans who contact us get a short check, then a fast answer. Our target response time is 24 hours, anywhere in the country.

Before anything else

In danger or thinking of ending your life? Call now.

Relief funding is not crisis care. If you or a veteran you know needs immediate help, the Veterans Crisis Line is free and open every hour of every day.

Programs

Four ways we help.

Emergency aid

Open

Quick financial help for food, rent, utilities and urgent repairs. Veterans find us through social media and local partners such as shelters and veterans’ posts. A short verification, then the money moves.

Next steps

Open

After the emergency, a plan for the long run. Monthly virtual workshops on budgeting and saving, one-on-one coaching, and help finding jobs and training through local job centers and nonprofit partners.

Lifeline housing

Open

For veterans with nowhere to sleep: up to 30 days in a safe motel, with meals, clothing and rides to appointments and interviews. When we have one to give, a phone with basic service so you stay reachable.

Safe Ground app

In design

A free mobile app for women veterans and active-duty service members living with post-traumatic stress. Planned features: volunteer counselors and therapists, workshops, exercise sessions and peer-to-peer connection.

How a request works

Short on paperwork. Careful with people.

  1. 1

    Reach out

Use the request form. Tell us what you need and how to reach you.

  2. 2

    Quick check

We confirm your service. Have a DD-214 or similar record ready. We will tell you how to share it safely.

  3. 3

    Decision

A person reviews it and answers as fast as we can.

  4. 4

    Help arrives

Aid is sent, or housing is arranged, and we stay in touch.

  5. 5

    Next steps

Coaching and job support, so the emergency does not repeat.

Keeping this running

Relief depends on donations and grants.

If you can give, partner with us, or refer a veteran who needs help, we would like to hear from you.
